Write a free verse poem

Using the notes you have taken on free verse structure and poetic devices, practice writing a poem of your own. Remember, this style of poetry has no real rules:

→ Choose a topic (Yourself, your dog, how much you hate poetry, the pencil on your desk, a leaf outside….whatever)

→ Decide on at least one structure characteristic of free verse you want to include

→ Decide on at least one poetic device you want to include

→ Write your poem

→ Under your poem tell me which structure characteristic(s) and poetic device(s) you included (or attempted to include)
