On a Good Day
Summarizing

Summarizing is a great reading strategy to help with understanding what you read. If you can remember a few, specific details, it can help with a deeper understanding. When you can write a response which is more than one-sentence it is showing a bigger understanding of what is read. The response is about not only what the character did or said, but why? So as you write a summary, ask yourself "what happened? and "Why did it happen"
