Assignment:
Write a memo, paper, or PowerPoint presentation with the following sections (each should be a first-level heading):
Desired career
Describe the career position or path where you hope to be successful.
Skills needed
List the skills needed for success in your targeted career. Include technical skills, soft skills, and conceptual skills. List at least nine skills.
Career SWOT analysis
Prepare a personal career SWOT analysis. You may present this in a table/chart or in four paragraphs. Explain your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for your targeted career. Be complete enough to clearly present each of your SWOT components.
Personal development plan
Build a personal development plan with at least four development activities to address some of your key weaknesses or development areas. For each, state the development goal, development activity, and timeframe. Include a variety of activities that include training (education, classes, certifications), experiences (work, volunteer, special projects), and learning through others (such as mentoring or coaching). See chapter 8 for related discussion on development plans. You may present this in a table form or in paragraphs.
