These are the evaluation criteria for a Sternum PA Oblique (RAO):
1) Proper collimation and presence of marker
2) Entire sternum from jugular notch to tip of xiphoid process
3) Sternum projected over heart but free of superimposition of the thoracic spine
4) Blurred pulmonary markings if breathing technique was used
5) Minimally rotated sternum and thorax as shown by the following:
a. Sternum projected free of superimposition of vertebral column
b. minimally obliqued vertebrae to prevent excessive rotation of the sternum
c. Lateral portion of manubrium and SC joint free of superimposition by the vertebra
