A 33yr-old woman presents to the OB/GYN clinic with a white vaginal discharge, itching and burning of the pubic region, and redness/inflammation of the vaginal tissues upon examination with the speculum. She says that OTC "Monistat" was what she tried, but she's had several of these in the last month (likely that it was reduced, then redeveloped). You diagnose her and prescribe ketoconazole for her relief. Explain to your groups & TA what this means, what structures/processes are involved, what it means in terms of helping the patient, and how it may work.

A) Trichomonas vaginalis
B) Candida albicans
C) Neisseria gonorrhoeae
D) Chlamydia trachomatis
