I have a couple of questions regarding the research on my topic. My original research question concerned how the sleep cycles were affected by an extreme lack or absence of natural light. I looked at studies of people in Antarctica, their sleep cycles, sleep quality, and time, and how they could decrease the worker's efficiency. After turning in my draft, my biology teacher said that my IA was primarily background information, statistical analysis, and less biology analysis. My current research question is: How does an elevated or decreased exposure to natural light affect the bodily cycles of workers residing in the Arctic Circle To explore this, I have found studies exploring melatonin and cortisol levels and clock gene expression in people living in areas in the Arctic Circle, and then comparing them from summer and winter light exposures and how people perceived these changes.

My questions:
- Am I looking at the right things, or should I be looking more into why these chemicals are released? if so, do u know what I should look at when finding that information?
- If I'm looking for the why, can I do research on the levels first and then look at why each of these things happens separately?
- If my topic isn't biology enough, how can I make it better?
