one serving = 1/3 of sandwich
So,
total no. of servings= 4/0.333 =12

We need to find the number of serving the 4 foot long sandwich will have if each serving is [tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex] foot long. To find the number of servings we divide the 4 foot sandwich by [tex] \frac{1}{3 } [/tex] foot.

Number of serving the 4 foot long sandwich= 4 ÷[tex] \frac{1}{3} [/tex]

When we divide we convert division sign to multiplication and the second fraction flips. 4 x [tex] \frac{1 }{3} [/tex] =12
