We learned about the Theory of Conservation of Matter this year in several contexts. Use it to explain why chemical equations must be balanced. Explain what happens to wood as an example to back up your answer

Respuesta :

Wood is made from carbon, chemical reaction: C + O₂ → CO₂.
Law of conservation of matter states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy, the mass of the system must remain constant over time.
In chemical reactions, the mass of the chemical components before the reaction (in this reaction carbon and oxygen) is equal to the mass of the components after the reaction (carbon dioxide).
Number of atoms on the left side of reaction and on the right of reaction must be the same.
