When a wire is joined due to which the short Circuit occurs causes the connection for the bulbs 1 and 2 turn off . But their is no effect on the bulbs 3 and 4 .The bulb 3 and 4 work properly.

A short circuit causes excessive flow of current in the wire .As we know that the flow of current is due to the amount of charge flowing in the wire.
Due to movement of large number of electron in the wire or circuit wioth an intended path cause the short circuit in the wire.
