Why did suburbs in the United States grow in the period after World War II?
A. Lack of jobs in urban areas due to economic recession sent Americans looking for work in the suburbs.
B. Lack of housing in cities due to lingering war damage led Americans to abandon urban homes.
C. Government programs forced families from cities to settle rural areas.
D. Growing families moved out of crowded urban areas to seek more space.
After World War II the construction of the interstate allowed for people to live further away from their job sites. This allowed families seeking more space to move out of the cities while still being able to get to work easily.
