Remember that whatever we do to this equation, we have to do it to both sides.
We have to isolate x on one side.
3y - 2 > 5
Add 2 to both sides
3y - 2 + 2 > 5 + 2
3y > 7
Divide by 3 on both sides
y > [tex] \frac{7}{3} [/tex]
