The perimeter of Sportsland Park is 624 yd. the length of the rectangle Park is 8 yd more than 3 times the width. Find the dimensions of the park.

Let the width of the rectangular park be w yard . And it is given that the length is 8 yd more than 3 times the width . SO length is

[tex] (3w+8) yd [/tex]

The formula of perimeter of rectangle is

[tex] Perimeter = 2(length + width) [/tex]

Substituting the given value of perimeter in the formula, we will get

[tex] 624 = 2(w+3w+8) \\ 312 = 4w + 8 \\ 304 = 4w \\ w = 76yd [/tex]

So the width is 76 yd and the length is

[tex] 3(76)+ 8 = 236 yd [/tex]
