Measure of angle 1.
Angle ALS consists of angle 1 and 2. When you take the angle 2 away, subtract it, it ends with angle one.
There are a few ways to answer. The simplest of which is to simply say "angle 1" which is written as [tex] m \angle 1 [/tex] or you can say "angle ELS" or "angle SLE" written as [tex] m \angle ELS [/tex] and [tex] m \angle SLE [/tex] respectively. All three of these angles represent the same idea.
It might help if you used a different color marker to help see what's going on. In figure 1 (see attached image), I've marked angle ALS in green. Then if you take out angle 2 from the angle ALS, then you'll be left over with just angle 1. Angle 2 is marked in blue and angle 1 is marked in red. This is shown in figure 2.
