The conflict Marcus is going through could completely change his personality, by making him paranoid and have trust issues. This could likewise cause some connection issues amongst Marcus and his father, later causing them to separate. Since Marcus and his father already have conflicting opinions this would most likely happen. On my standpoint Marcus would go through the rest of his life paranoid all because of this contention.
