On a menu, each item from column A costs $2.25, each item from column B costs $4.50, and each item from column C costs $5.25.

Terry ordered four items from column A and one from column C.

John ordered two items from column A and two from column B.

Maria ordered one item from column A, one from column B, and one from column C.

Which of the following is correct?

A. Maria's meal cost more than Terry's but less than John's.
B. Terry's, John's, and Maria's meals all cost the same.
C. Terry's meal cost more than John's meal and also cost more than maria's meal.

Insert the numbers. add them, and look for which statement is true.


Terry

4(2.25) + 5.25 = 14.25

John

2(2.25) + 2(4.5) = 13.5

Maria

2.25 + 4.5 + 5.25 = 12


The statement that is true is C, Terry's meal ($14.25) cost more than John's ($13.50) and Maria's ($12.00).
