This Correspondence Committee was established as an intercolonial provincial government. Boston was the first provincial government to be formed. This was because, since the end of the French and Indian Wars, the city of Boston has become a terrible den of terror.
The Boston Correspondence Committee was also accused of initiating the "tea crisis" which was the driving force of the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773.
