let the total money earned by the five friends = x
grayson got an extra $18
total grayson got $32
the money is divided in the equal parts in each friend = [tex]\frac{x}{5}[/tex]
now the algebraic equation becomes
32 = 18 + [tex]\frac{x}{5}[/tex]
(32- 18) 5 =x
by solving the above equation
we get
$70 = total money (x)
money is divided in the equal parts in each friend = $14
