Emotional intelligence can give the ability to remain hopeful during challenging times. Moreover, emotional intelligence is the capacity to recognize and manage one’s own emotions and the emotions of other people.
EXPLANATION:
Emotional intelligence is commonly said to contain at least three skills: emotional consciousness, or the knowledge to recognize and specify individual's own emotions; the ability to utilize these emotions and implement them to tasks such as thinking and problem solving; and the ability to direct emotions, that involves managing one's own emotions when needed and supporting others to do the same.
There are no psychometric tests or scales for validated emotional intelligence because there is for "g," the general intelligence factor—and many people debate that emotional intelligence is therefore not a real construct, but a way of telling interpersonal skills that use other names.
Apart from this criticism, emotional intelligence ("EQ" or "emotional intelligence," as it is occasionally known) has broad appeal among the common public and in particular sectors. In the latest years, some entrepreneurs have even integrated emotional intelligence tests into their process of application or interview, based on the theory that someone who has high emotional intelligence will be a better leader or coworker.
While some studies have found an association between emotional intelligence and performance of a job, many others show no correlation at all, and the lack of a logically-valid scale makes it hard to accurately measure or predict someone's emotional intelligence at work.
