Some of the structures within a cell that help it live and perform its function in an organism are the following:

  • Cell nucleus is present in eukaryotic cells (with a defined cell nucleus) and is surrounded by cytoplasm, the interior of which contains most of the cell's genetic material (DNA).
  • Golgi apparatus is a membranous organelle that is responsible for glycosylation and the secretion and maturation of proteins.
  • Mitochondria only present in eukaryotes. It is involved in the production of ATP and in cellular respiration.
  • Endoplasmic reticulum is responsible for intracellular transport and is divided into smooth (it participates in lipid synthesis) and rough (it has ribosomes).
  • Ribosomes fulfill the function of protein synthesis and can be found in the rough endoplasmic reticulum.

These organelles are the structures that are part of a unicellular organism or a cell.

Within these organelles, the various biochemical functions necessary for cell survival and functioning are carried out, giving the organism in question a certain structure.

Therefore, we can conclude that inside cells there are organelles, simple structures that have specialized and differentiated shapes and structures, the Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, ribosomes and endoplasmic reticulum stand out.
