No, Susan is wrong because when you double 1/2 it becomes 1 cup of sugar and doubling 3/4 becomes 2 and 2/4, simplified version being 2 1/2 or 2.5

the correct "doubled" way would be

1 cup of sugar and 1 2/4 cup of flour (1 1/2 simplified)


B.the process of converting a mixed number into a equivalent improper fraction is to first add the "bottom" number to the top, then take away the whole number.
