Compare the linear functions expressed by the equation, y = –x + 3, and by data in the table.

Explain how to determine if these two are the same function expressed in different ways

Compare the linear functions expressed by the equation y x 3 and by data in the table Explain how to determine if these two are the same function expressed in d class=

Respuesta :

yes there are the same function, to find the slope intercept of the table take 2 coords, for example (-4,1) and (-2,-1), and subract the y from the other y and the x from the other x, like this: -1-1/-2+4 and you get -2/2, divide that and you get negative 1, or just -x. thats your slope, and in y=-x+3 also has the same slope of -x, or -1x

Sample Answer:When a linear function is expressed in different forms, its slope and y-intercept remain the same. The slope from the equation is -1, and the y-intercept from the equation is 3. The slope from the table is -1, and the y-intercept from the table is −3. These are not the same functions.
