which sentence is punctuated correctly?

A)"Where have you been?"Ronald asked.
B)"Boy," Darren replied, "You weren't kidding."
C)"I visit my grandmother at the nursing home," said Juanita "at least once a week"
D) Fred asked, " do you have an extra pencil, Adam?"

Respuesta :

The answer to the question is c)

Hm... ok so the answer is "C" and here is why:

The reason that "A" is wrong is because it is missing a comma in between > been?"< and >Ronald. Remember a " , " always comes after something surrounded by [tex]"\_\_\_\_\_"[/tex] if the text ends inside the quote and doesn't continue after stating who said it.

"B" is incorrect due to the number of comma's. You do not put a comma after: She said<>He said<> the man replied<> I thought or anything along those lines.

"D" is incorrect in multiple ways, including capitalization. The one reason we can strike it out is the same as "B", with a comma after Fred asked.

Now after all of that said, the only answer left without any noticeable strikes against it is "C".
