ok, so, with distribution is the correct way to do math, but to do it is to take the number on the outside of the parentheses (-2) and multiply that number by every number on th inside of the parentheses. -2*3= -6 -2*-4= 8 -2*-8= 16 -2*7= -14 so now add all theses together (-6+8+16+-14)=4 idk if you know this already but when multipling two negatives results in a positive, but when multipling a negative by a positive it results in a negative
now, without distribuation it would be (3+ -4+ -8+7)= -2 then multiply -2*-2=4
