Vinegaroons are also known as Whipscorpions which look similar to scorpions but aren't true scorpions.
The whipscorpions have oversized pincers for catching prey and a long slender whip-like tail which is just a sensory structure to detect vibrations or odors.
The whip scorpion, unlike the true scorpions, does not sting or produce any venom.
Thus, unlike the pincers of scorpions, the whip tail of vinegaroons is just a sensory structure and not its mimic.
