Do you think that a code of ethics combined with an ethics committee would be more effective than leadership alone in implementing ethical behavior?

Respuesta :

Yes, a code of ethics and an ethics committee would be definitely more effective than leadership alone.

Research has confirmed that a group of average IQ people are better equipped to solve almost any problem than a lonely genius. From this it follows that no matter how efficacious a leader might be at inspiring an ethical conduct from those he or she leads, a clearly written code of ethics known by everybody as well as an ethics committee established to implement it would obtain significantly better results than just a charismatic leader would.

As an example: it ethics depended exclusively on the charisma and virtues of the leader of any movement, most Christians would observe impeccable behavior by virtue of Jesus's well established attributes as a man and prophet and spiritual leader

YES. A code of ethics combined with a committee and good leadership is more effective in implementing ethical behavior.

The code and the committee will still be useless without good leadership. There are many examples of national leaders who have shown that they can operate above their national codes and subjugate ethical committees.

In my opinion, leadership requires a code of ethics and an independent ethics committee to implement ethical behavior in all aspects of human endeavor. Even Jesus Christ was always consulting with his Father to do his will, and he laid down guidelines for his followers. Other spiritual leaders did the same for their followers. Every leader who does not have recourse to guidelines fails in their conduct.

Thus, if leadership operates without a code of ethics powered by an ethics committee, it resorts to absolute power, corruption, and loss of integrity.
