It is an inequality that i have to solve. I have tried everything and i need help.

[tex]2k + \frac{1}{3} > 1[/tex] Subtract [tex]\frac{1}{3}[/tex] on both sides
[tex]2k > 1-\frac{1}{3}[/tex] Make the denominators the same
[tex]2k>\frac{3}{3} -\frac{1}{3}[/tex]
[tex]2k>\frac{2}{3}[/tex] Divide 2 on both sides
[tex]k>\frac{2}{3(2)}[/tex]
[tex]k>\frac{1}{3}[/tex]
first you multiply both sides of the inequality by 3 to get rid of the fraction. You then subtract 1 from both sides. Finally, you divide both sides by 2 to get k is greater than 1.
