Evaporation takes place when liquid is heated. As the molecules of the liquid absorb heat, they begin to move around more quickly due to higher kinetic energy. This gives them the energy to break the bonds that connect them to other water molecules.
When the molecules are moving fast enough, they are able to disperse. They leave the surface of the liquid as gas molecules.
Therefore, by adding energy, molecules move faster and break away from the others. The temperature that evaporation occurs is called the vaporization point or boiling point.
