Which line in the poem shows the speaker changing his mind?

Fire and Ice by Robert Frost Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

Respuesta :

The speaker changes his mind in line 5. It can be clearly seen by the use of "But" to introduce this shift, saying that this time he thinks that Ice is also great to destruction.

Also, there is a change in the following verses. The fact that after line 5 there is no punctuation indicates that the rest of the verses are a whole different section of the poem in which the speaker states his change of mind
