According to C. Wright Mills (The Sociological Imagination), if one takes a ‘public issues’ perspective, then one would look to the others for their solution to the social problem. The sociological imagination is the implementation of imaginative thought to ask and answer sociological questions.

Mill's concept of sociological imagination enables individuals to see the relationship between events in their biographies, personal lives, and events in society, history. This mindset offers the ability for individuals to apprehend the relationship between personal experience and the larger community.
