First, you can plot this using a table. One side can be 'Women' and the other 'Men'. One the vertical side of it, write '1980', '1981', '1982', etc., for maybe fifteen years to be on the safe side. Then, your starting value is 6 million and 5.4 million, respectively.

Finally, start adding up! It will be, 6.14 million, 6.28 million, etc., and 5.4 million, 5.48 million, etc.
