Respuesta :
The final temperature is 60°C
What is meant by Temperature?
A measure of the warmth or coldness of an object or substance with reference to some standard value.
What is meant by Specific heat?
- A measure of the amount of heat needed to increase a substance's temperature by one degree Celsius per gram.
- Specific heat is usually measured in Joules per gram per degree Celsius (J/g °C)
What is Calorimetry?
Calorimetry is the practice or science of observing changes in a body's state variables in order to compute the heat transfer related to such changes, such as physical changes or phase transitions under particular circumstances.
How to solve the Problem?
Let c be the specific heat of water.
According to the principle of calorimetry.
Heat lost by hot water = heat gained by cold water
200 * c * (80 - T) = 100 * c * (T - 20)
∴ 200c (80-T) = 100c(T-20)
∴2 (80-T) = T - 20
∴160-2T=T-20
∴ 160+20 = T +2T
∴180 = 3T
∴T = 60 C
Hence the Final temperature is 60°C
