Defense in Depth, also known as (DiD), refers to "Cybersecurity", or computer security,  also known as information technology security; which is the protection of computer systems and internet-connected systems, and this includes: data, hardware and software, against theft, cyber-attacks or damage. This tactic was developed by the (NSA) National Security Agency, and some of its elements include: Antivirus Software, Network Security, Analyzing Data Integrity, biometric verification, Behavioral Analysis, Firewalls, anti-spyware, hierarchical passwords and intrusion detection.

DiD does not include user terminal equipment, nor  read-only information access with no change of the configuration of the Cyber asset.
