Respuesta :
by revising sentence 3 to eliminate the use of circular reasoning
by revising sentence 6 to eliminate the use of hasty generalization
When reading this passage, the two sentences that cause me the most pause and rereading were sentences 3 and 6. This was my first indication that these two sentence were in need of revision. Looking at all the answer options, adding or deleting transition words would not add to or help the clarity of sentence 1, 2, or 4. Eliminating the circular reasoning in sentence 3 would help this sentence because it basically says in a round about way that people are going to continue to use fossil fuels because they use them now. This says the same thing twice. Sentence 6 is confusing because it is too wordy. By eliminating the hasty generalization the sentence becomes clearer and more concise.
The most adequate revision to the given paragraph in order to eliminate the logical fallacy of the given passage and make it more clear would be:
B). by adding the transition Additionally to the beginning of sentence 2
C). by revising sentence 3 to eliminate the use of circular reasoning
- "Logical Fallacies" falter the impact and clarity of the intended meaning and purpose of the text.
- While transition words assist in bridging the gap between two ideas by acting as fillers and promoting a smooth flow of ideas and better understanding.
- In the given passage, the use of transition "additionally" prior to the start of sentence 2 will associate the ideas and make it more impactful.
- The revision of sentence 3 to remove circular logic will provide it clarity and enhance its validity and efficacy.
Thus, options B and C are the correct answers.
