Need some help

You’ve made the hypothesis that the higher the density of a rock the higher the temperature at which it will melt , because a denser rock contains more material

What should the dependant variable be in a experiment testing this hypothesis ?

A) the size of the rock
B) the color of the rock
C) the density of the rock
D) the temperature at which the rock melts

Respuesta :

The answer is C) the density of the rock

Density of rock is the dependent variable, because it depends on the temperature. The temperature can’t be the dependent variable because ,the density of a rock does not have magical powers that can change temperature of a room. However changing the temperature of the room ,will change the density of the rock. Hope this helps !
