After conquering Constantinople, Mehmet II laid claim to the Roman Empire taking the title of “Caesar”. His title was not recognized by other rulers. Also, Mehmet II went on build the Eyup Sultan Mosque, to conquer the Despotate of the Morea, and northeastern Anatolia.
