The climates in the midlatitude countries of South America different from those in the Andes region in the midlatitudes normlly have mild winters with humid summers and tropical and subtropical climates.
The Andes mountain region, which runs along the western coast of the South American continent giving wide range of possible climates depending on location. The northern Andes region is typically warm and rainy, while the southern Andes is rainy and cool, and the middle/central region is often dry. Snow tops some of the highest mountain tops in the Andes.
