That's impossible, cause 3x plus 12 can't be equal to 3x plus 11.

Can be simplified using distribution of parentheses: [tex]3x+12=3x+11[/tex]
Now we subtract [tex]3x[/tex] from both sides and get: [tex]12=11[/tex]
Which is false ([tex]12\neq11[/tex]) and therefore the equation has no solution [tex]x=\emptyset[/tex]
