Answer: Chaparral biome is made up majorly of infertile land and the climate of the biome is majorly hot and dry. Thus, the plant biodiversity in the biome is limited and some plants may not be available all the year through. Due to this fact, the animals living in the area have to survive by learning to eat whatever plant is available per season. If the animals are able to eat only one type of plant, they will suffer hunger and possibly death if that particular plant is no longer available. Therefore ability to eat different type of food is an adaptation for survival in the chaparral biome.
