Factorise this equation

[tex]x^{2} - 2x +35[/tex]
To factor we must first find factors of 35
The only factors of 35 are : 5 & 7
-2x is what 5 and 7 make
but only if 7 is negative and 5 is positive
so our final factors are
(x - 7) (x + 5)
______________________________________________
[tex]2x^{2} +7x +6[/tex]
For the second equation, were going to multiple the coefficient of [tex]x^{2}[/tex] ( which is 2 ) by 6
We get 12
What factors of 12 add up to 7?
3 and 4
So our final factors are
(2x+3)(x+2)
