A., as "foxholes" show that the person is in the military and "pretend... you are here with me" shows that they are not together, and use of "my darling" shows it is a significant other.

When the author says “darling” you can infer that he/she is talking about a significant other, and the only reasonable choice is his girlfriend. I hope this helps :)
