Each branch plays a different role in making sure laws are passed, enforced,
and applied fairly in accordance with the United States Constitution. Which

It represents the idea of 'distribution of powers'.

This idea is seperation of powers. This idea makes sure that every branch of the government has equal powers and each branch sort of overlooks a different branch in order to keep one branch from getting too much power and our government from becoming a dictatorship.
