You have to use PEMDAS. (Parentasis, Exponants, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtration.)
Parentasis - (x - 3). If x = 6, then 6 - 3 = 3
Now the equation reads : 24 / 2 to the 2 power x 3.
Exponants - That is just another word for power. So 2 the the second power is 2 x 2 = 4, 4 x 2 = 8.
Now the equation reads : 24 / 8 x 3.
Mutiplication and Division - You dont have to do this in any order. Just do the first of them in your equation. So 24 / 8 = 3. So 3 x 3 = 9.
Addition and Subtraction - Since there is none of these in the equation, we can skip it.
We finished! So now you know how to use PEMDAS and you know the answer - 9!
