Viruses cannot survive outside a host.
Explanation:
Viruses are simple non-cellular entities. They contain one or more molecules of either DNA or RNA enclosed in a protein capsid. They show obligatory parasitism and cannot reproduce outside a living host cells. An infectious virus is termed as virion. A virion injects its DNA or RNA into the host cell which in turn is integrated into the host genome. The viral genome is then gets expressed by the host cell.
