North Korea is an enigma as well as a "hermit kingdom because they keep their technology and secrets to themselves. North Korea has a "communist" government although a large portion of the country is suffering from extreme poverty and they have what's called a Juche Ideology. Juche isolates the country and strengthens the rich.
