Queen Elisabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn who Henry executed when Elizabeth was only 2. Elizabeth returned England to Protestantism and reduced privy council and its Catholic influence. She was an outstanding leader that put the country before herself. She did not marry and did not have children so nobody could replace her on the throne after she died on 24th March 1603. She ruled for 44 years.
