The Texas revolution started due to the attempt of the Mexicans to disarm the  people of Gonzales.

The battle of Gonzales was the first war. The Texans wanted to have a separate country from the Mexicans.

The fight resulted in people fleeing from their homes into the neighboring US. They did this out of fear of reprisal attacks.
