Integration

Integration in sociology is defined as the process of coordinating a society where all the people in the social groups collaborate together and share their  cultural and socioeconomic life.

In a way it is the integration of the younger ones or newcomers to come and join the larger part of the society. People of different background or gender come together to live in harmony where they share their feelings and emotions as a common entity.

Occurrence of integration

Integration is a result of the brain when the cortex of the brain sends signals to the brain to consider the sensory information with several internal as well as external stimuli that includes perception, awareness and thoughts. The cortex of the brain integrates the sensory information and processes them.

Importance of integration

  • Integration help in the personality development of an individual.
  • It helps people to change their behavior and attitude.
  • It helps people to get relief from mental disorders, stress, anxiety, etc.
  • It improves the quality of life.

The three principles of integration

1. Development of cognitive thinking abilities and interest.

2. Recognizing people's wants and needs and also addresses their improvements and development in the society.

3. Enhancement of skill sets, knowledge and experience.
