Your assignment: write a paragraph.
Since 2006, bees have been dying at an alarming rate. This massive decline in the bee population has been named Colony Collapse Disorder. The state legislature is voting on two bills that have been presented to solve the problem of Colony Collapse Disorder in honey bees. Bill #1 advocates the use of public funds to finance research about Colony Collapse Disorder. Bill #2 advocates a ban on pesticides that might harm bees.

Answer:

Bill #2

Explanation:   We need to ban pesticides that are affecting our bees. During the winter of 2006-2007, some beekeepers began to report unusually high losses of 30-90 percent of their hives. As many as 50 percent of all affected colonies demonstrated symptoms inconsistent with any known causes of honey bee death. Our hives cannot sustain themselves without worker bees and would eventually die.  Do you know what would happen without bees? Our lives would collaspe and we all our plants would die. The fastest way to stop dying bees is to eliminate pesticides that cause them to die. Sign now if you want to live.

Good luck :)

Answer:

Pesticides commonly found in lawn and garden products and used in agriculture are known to be hazardous to bees –some killing bees outright and others with subtle effects that reduce a bee's ability to thrive. Approximately 90 percent of all flowering plants require pollinators to survive.
