The war on terror is basically war against the terrorism, or rather against the terrorist organization. The main goal is to destroy and dismantle this organizations, thus to provide the ordinary people with safety and concerns that they will end up murdered or forced to fight for these organizations. Lot of countries from all over the world have engaged into this war, and the effects have been both positive and negative.
Intentional effects from the war on terror have been the destruction of the basis of the terrorist organizations, arresting their terrorists that have been involve in planning or executing terrorist attacks, arresting or eliminating the leaders, returning the occupied territories under government control. There have been unintentional effects though, negative ones, such as the killing of civilians during the fights, making the terrorists even more revengeful so that they make more attacks from desperation, and infiltration in numerous countries so that attacks are performed on foreign soil.
