On 4 March 1861, the Sixteenth President of the United States Abraham Lincoln delivered the inaugural speech while taking oath. He spoke on different topics and one of them was that Union was eternal. He witnessed the problem of secession by the seven states which formed Confederacy. He made clear in this speech that federal laws applied to the whole Union and any step to threaten its unity was to be dealt with force.
